Young Women In Harmony

Sweet Adelines Young Women In Harmony (YWIH) program teaches emerging voices the skills, joy and rewards of performing and singing four-part harmony, barbershop style...

Young Women in Harmony delivers both musical excellence and education while it gives young women a taste of show business. This program provides educational tools to teach young women singers the joy of performing this American vocal music art form.

Region 7 sponsored it's first annual Young Women In harmony Festival in September, 2007.  Approximately 75 young women registered for the program and approximately 58 participated.  After a day of rehearsing, the women took took to the stage late Saturday afternoon to perform their "package".  All agreed it was a fun filled day of music, laughter and education.  New friendships were formed and all are anxious to participate in the future.

The Young Singers Foundation was created by Sweet Adelines International in 1992. The Foundation's purpose is to enrich the lives of young people through educational programs in vocal music: scholarships; grants to school-based music programs; and funding to after-school and community vocal music activities for young people.
