Quartets
Zing! was the hands down audience favorite quartet in Nashville and the judges were in complete agreement as they crowned our favorite Region 7 quartet 2010 Queens of Harmony!

In 2009 Black Tie captured the Region 7 championship.  In 2002 Zing! was named Region 7 Quartet Champions and remained champions through 2005, at which time they placed high enough at International Competition to enable them to continue competing at the International Convention without competing at regional contests.

Region 7 is very proud of it's quartet history.  Four quartets have been crowned International Champions:  Zing! in 2009, The Shondells in 1977, The Hallmarks in 1979 and Classic Edition in 1998.

Zing! zing-ed the audience with ringing chords, overtones, pedal tones and every tone in between as they harmonized their way to the top at the 2009 International Competition in Nashville. Quartet members are Mary Rhea, baritone , Susan Ives, lead, Melynnie Williams, bass; and Michelle Hunget, tenor.

Classic Edition sang the hot notes that won them the 1997 International crown in Salt Lake City. Quartet members are Sheila Martinez, baritone , Susan Ives, lead, Jana Brown, tenor; and Donna Kready, bass . They capped the occasion with the release of their first CD ,"Something Hot".

Region 7 only had to travel as far as St. Louis in 1979 to see The Hallmarks capture the International Quartet Champion crowns. This crowning moment led members Helen Shores, baritone; Liz Robertson, lead; Jackie Harrison, bass and JoAnn Karaff, bass to two USO tours, a cultural exchange week in Poland and miscellaneous and frequent music schools and chorus shows. Although the quartet retired in 1986, folks who attended the 1999 Coronet Club Show in Atlanta, GA were treated to a reunion performance as The Hallmarks celebrated the 20th anniversary of its coronation.

In 1977 The Shondells went to London to see the Queen and came home with crowns of their own.  Pearls that they are, the quartet may have aged since then, but it hasn't lost its luster. Singing together at a MWP7 event in January, 1999, The Shondells proved beyond a doubt that neither age nor distance has dimmed their glow.  Members of the quartet are Melodee Wright, Tenor; Virginia Fitzpatrick, Lead; Theresa Reed, Bairtone; and Donna Graham, Bass.
